Wee Memories #81

Welcome!  I hope everyone's holidays were terrific and you enjoyed the company of your families.  I sure did!  Today on Wee Memories Challenge we are celebrating things that are:

NEW

This could be celebrating the NEW year, a NEW baby, a NEW technique, a NEW product, or whatever is NEW!!!

Yesterday I took my daughter to my local scrapbook store where they had an adorable NEW make 'n take.  I thought it would be perfect for a photo of her and her NEW American Girl Doll she got for Christmas from Santa.  Plus we spent some quality time together making it......she got to use the Big Shot, MFT dies, and a MS border punch.  She had so much fun gluing all the pieces down!

As for the AG doll, Kitt had to come to the make 'n take as well.  I'm not sure how this doll is going to survive........Payton combs her hair and changes its clothes constantly!!  We are even going to go get some NEW clothes for Kitt on Sunday where they will be unveiling the NEW AG doll for 2012!!!  She is BEYOND excited (and so am I!)!!

Remember, that you can make ANYTHING for the Wee Memories challenges......not just cards!  Let's see some altered art!!!  Please refer to the Wee Memories blog for sponsor details!

Have a great start to the NEW Year!!!

Paper:  Unsure of source

CAS-ual Fridays and Market Street Stamps!

This is an exciting post as the Design Team from Market Street Stamps meets up with the Girl Fridays over at CAS-ual Fridays for their post and a combined post over at the Market Street Blog for the monthly Block Party!  How fun is that?  This week's theme is Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String!  And remember........CAS!

I decided to use one of the newest stamps, Believing Butterfly, that is available NOW over at Market Street Stamps!  Just look at the detail in this butterfly..........the details just really stand out.   I've had this kraft wrapping paper in my stash and was perfect for this challenge..........I just stamped the butterfly in a pattern over my kraft paper!

I paired this with some awesome twine from The Twinery and a felt flower made with the Fringe Flower Die from Lil' Inker Designs.  That wonderful sentiment is from another new Market Street Stamp set called Faith in You and was stamped onto a die cut Dog Tag shape.

Well, we sincerely hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and play along with us.  Remember there are prizes up for grabs as well as a Guest Designer Spot over at Market Street Stamps for next month!  Check out CAS-ual Fridays and Market Street Stamps blogs for full prize details.

PDCC and Lil' Inker Designs!

Today I'm here with a card using the cute cute Ccoa Bear image from Lil' Inker Designs and 2 cute ink!  This uses the beautiful holiday challenge over at The Play Date Cafe and it's sponsored by none other than Lil' Inker Designs!  Here is the color story from PDCC..........

Last time you saw this image, Cocoa Bear was totally colored in with Copics.   This time I've combined Copics with paper piecing!  I've forgotten how much I love to do this!  Using the fabulous papers from the Season's Greetings collection by Echo Park, they were the PERFECT match for this color story!

The side border is the Wonky Scallop Border by MFT.  The die cut that Cocoa Bear is sitting on is actually the Mat Stack 3 die cut once and then place back in the die the other way to "cut off" the circular top.  Makes a fun ticket type shape!  Cocoa Bear is also sitting on a grey stamped shadow stamp from the set Warm Happiness by PTI to "ground" him.

I think my favorite parts of this card are the sentiment and that I popped up Cocoa Bear's head for dimension!  I used a sentiment from the Cocoa Bear set but didn't want the whole thing so I just stamped and cut out the words at whatever angles looked good.  Well, I'm off now to do some more wrapping and hopefully some baking for the holiday.  One more day off before I have to work Christmas Eve.  Thanks for stopping by!

{just for you!}

Market Street Stamps December Release: Faith in You

Welcome Market Street Stamps fans!  Today I get to showcase the last new stamp set that is being released during our "mini' release here in December.  It is called Faith in You and it's a perfect set for those times where you need to have a card for that uplifting type of moment.

I used some masking to get the effect here for the flowers........Love how it turned out!  Adding some black gem centers to the flowers gave it just the right touch.  I also wanted to mat the flower panel on black but the whole black mat was too much so I cut some squares and added them to just the corners.  This gave a nice place for the ribbon loops underneath to lay.

And a new release wouldn't be fun without a prize right?  Here are the details for winning this stamp set!

If you would LOVE to win this set showcased tonight, there are a few ways to enter!

1.Earn ONE entry for each comment you leave across ALL of the designers' blogs tonight. {p.s. if, for any reason, a designer does not have a new release post up don't worry!! Winners will be chosen only amongst posts that are published. :)}

Christmas Tag

I am writing this as I got an unexpected day off today.......I was on call last night and had to pretty much work all night.  So after sleeping, I call work and they said I could have the day off!!  So I'm making the best of it!  I actually made this tag last night in between calls but didn't get to type my post due to the phone calls!

I decided to use some awesome stamped images my sweet friend, Renee, sent me a while back.  The images are from the Big Blooms-Poinsettias by Waltzingmouse Stamps.  So much detail in these stamps!  They were colored with various Copic markers, glittered up with some Prisma Glitter, and one was popped up for dimension!  Adding in a sentiment from Teeny Trees stamped on the double ended banner die, completed my tag.  After some stong encouragement, I am sending this over to the Christmas Tag Challenge at Waltzingmouse Stamps.  (Thanks Renee!)

I also used this week's Make it Monday technique to use any die for a folded tag!  I haven't played along in FOREVER but this challenge was perfect for this tag!  Stamped on the inside of the Mat Stack #3 Die shape, is the "to" and "from" words from Teeny Trees as well!  Did you notice the pattern paper?  I challenged myself to use Holiday Flourishes & Swirls paper from PTI for this.......I love the end result!

Well, that's it for me today as I'm going to try to get some wrapping done on my unexpected day off!  Stay tuned to the 'ole blog as Market Street Stamps is into their December Release and I have a sample that will be shown on Wednesday!  Thanks so much for stopping by during this busy holiday season!

I was excited to have this challenge because it gave me a chance to use my new Poinsettia dies from Spellbinders.  I LOVE LOVE these!  Not much else is needed with these gorgeous dies!  I also used something that I bought quite some time ago........Pinefeather cardstock!

I've layered my poinsettia onto a Linen Impressed Rustic Cream base for some added texture.  Adding in a sentiment from Stocking Prints was a perfect addition to the elegance.

Well, that's it for today!  Why don't you visit Wee Memories and check out the details of the prize up for grabs.  Remember this challenge is open for 2 (TWO) whole weeks!  Have a wonderful holiday!!

Hi everyone!  Today you should have arrived from Alicia's blog!  I am back with the next ADORABLE image from 2 cute ink brought to you from Lil' Inker Designs!  This guy just makes me smile!  Check it out:

I LOVE how this cute card turned out!  Here I've used some DP from My  Mind's Eye Lime Twist: Fly a Kite, for my background.  these images really don't need anything more added to them......Here I've added some machine stitching and a die cut snowflake with a twine tied button.  My sentiment was then stamped onto a Sentiment Flags die (also from Lil' Inker Designs) and tucked under the button.

Snowflake Tags

Hi everyone!  You are finding this post via the Market Street Stamps blog today!   I can not believe that the holidays are upon us!!!  I'm going to share some quick and easy tags for the holidays using some of the newest Market Street Stamps!

I am loving the detail that is in these new background stamps........especially the "Flurries" background.  When stamped in white, every little detail in the snowflakes shows.

Here's another version done in red.  I also wanted to add my sentiment (from Prancer set) but did so at an angle and I love how this turned out!  The easiest way is to make your sentiment panel longer, adhere to tag, and then flip over and trim.

And just to show you them all together.........

I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Season!  Don't forget we'd love to see your Market Street Projects over in the Neighborhood!  Thanks for stopping by!

We'll be releasing some existing favorites as well as new, never before seen images. Laura and Ariana are designing the sentiments to complement and complete these great sets!  Today is day 2 of the blog hop so if you have arrived here from Alicia's blog, then you are on the right track!

Today we're releasing Arctic Friends......an adorable image of little friends enjoying a sweet treat!  This stamp is available now!

I recently was able to expand my Copic collection (thanks Laura!) and decided to use them on my card.  This image is perfect for those that really don't like to color.  As you can see, I left most of him white with accents of color in the ice cream, penguin, and scarf.  I brought in some glossiness using Glossy Accents.....wow I can't believe I waited this long to start using this stuff.  I mean I've had it forever but just recently have been using it a lot!  I know we all have those goodies in our stash that we don't use!  Fess up!!! :)  Now, I had a little "oops" when it came to using the stuff though......I laid my hand on the image!  Yikes!  So my little penguin looks a little funny!

Don't forget to leave comments throughout the week. One commenter will be eligible to receive our Grand Prize....our entire Winter release from 2 Cute Ink! We will also be giving away two $10 store credits. Winners will be announced on Monday December 19th!
