12 Kits of Holidays {July Kit}

Welcome to the July Edition of the 12 Kits of Holidays!  This group has OFFICIALLY been together now for a year and a half!!  Every single month we get goodies from the hostess for the month. So many new things arrive..... makes it so fun!!!  BUT WAIT.......we have added some new things to our group.......a new BLOG (The 12 Kits of Occasions) and Facebook page.  There are a few little details still to be worked out so be expecting next month to be a little more 'fine tuned' for things like a new badge (instead of the one below) and blog titles.  So please go join our following over on the blog and LIKE us on Facebook!

This month's kit was sent to us by Christina Maclaren from SeaGlass Papercrafts!  We've been rotating holidays every other month being Christmas but this month was all about Birthdays!  Christina sent so many new to me goodies that I had a blast creating with the kit she put together for us!

I had fun with some NEW to me goodies that may just have to find their way into my shopping cart somewhere......{wink}.

Card #1--this was the first one I made with Christina's kit.......and turned out to be my favorite!  I diecut my sentiment into a circle, added gold sequins, and foam tape for dimension!

Special

Card #2--uses some adorable little tags that were included in the kit.  I paired them up with some gold shimmer twine, and yes.....more sequins!

Celebrate2

Card #3--uses stamps from one of my favorite companies.....Wplus9.  This set is called Sweet Treats and well......it's sweet because it has matching dies!  Woot!  I colored in a couple of the stamped diecut images with Copics and layered together.  I LOVE this glitter tape that was in the kit.....I used it as a glittery border for the sentiment panel!

That's it from me today but let's go check out what the rest of the group made with this kit!!! Make sure to stop by Christina's blog for a full supply list!!!

***If you'd like to see ANY of the 12 Kits of Christmas/Holidays cards/projects, Renee has started a 12 Kits Board over on Pinterest HERE. Go check it out......it has current projects and oldies too!***

Thanks......

Hi everyone!  We are currently enjoying a short trip to Chicago to take up the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier, and the American Girl Store.  I will be sure to take some pics during this time and I may just share a few when we get back!

I have a card to share using the current sketch over at Retro Sketches.  I've used some gorgeous blooms from Surely Goodness and leaves from Dream Big (and paired them with their coordinating dies) by VERVE.  The sentiment was stamped in Slate ink from Amuse (the best gray ink out there IMHO).  I know it wasn't in the sketch but I had to throw a little Pennant Trim in there for good measure.  (I LOVE this die!)

If by chance you were wanting to pick up some VERVE for yourself, you still have time as there is a SALE going on until July 31st!  Check it out HERE.

It's a Neat & Tangled day here ink splash style!!!!  Have you seen the latest stamp set from Neat & Tangled?  I'm loving these ink splash stamps!

Today, I've paired them up with my new Gelatos that I picked up while at Michael's.  I have been watching the videos that Kimberly Crawford posted with them and had to give them a try with the Ink Splash stamps!  Check out all her videos HERE.  Thanks Kimberly!

For my card, I used her Day 2 ideas with stamping with Gelatos.  Basically, what I did here was color on a craft mat and spritzed the color with water and inked up my stamp!  Love the watercolor look!

This past week, I had the pleasure of meeting a fellow Gallery Idol friend, Erin Schreiner while she was in Kansas.  We did a little crafty shopping and enjoyed Chipotle for dinner!  Erin, have you used your Gelatos yet?  :)

Viva la Verve! July Week 5 Sketch/Inspiration

Hi everyone!  I have a VERVE card to share using the newest Viva la Verve Sketch that was posted today over on Splitcoast Stampers that you can find HERE.  This week's sketch was from none other than the fabulous leader herself, Julee Tilman.  As soon as this sketch was posted, I knew I wanted to play along.  Julee has also given an inspiration photo to go off as well so you can combine both!

My card uses a sentiment from Words of Wisdom paired with the Starry Die, Rounded Rectangle Die, and Pennant Trim Die.  My papers are from Echo Park: All About a Boy.  I had fun pairing the different papers together to match the inspiration photo!

Stamping Royalty 2013 Blog Hop and prizes!

I'm so excited for this post to go live!  I still remember the day (April 19th), where I was (at work), and my reaction (no way!!) of when I got THE email.  Yes, THE email from Holly Anderson that I was a winner of Paper Crafts magazine’s 2013 Stamping Royalty Card Contest!  I won in the Birthday category and you will be able to see it in the Nov/Dec. issue of Paper Crafts magazine!!!
Let me say that since I was at work, I'm not to have my cell phone with me but that day, I had kept it in my pocket.  I was so glad that I had!  I was on cloud 9 the rest of the afternoon!!  Thank you so much Paper Crafts Magazine!!  I am so very honored to be "royalty"!!

That brings me to my post today.......I'm joining in the 2013 Stamping Royalty Blog Hop with all the other winners in all the categories!!!  You are in for a fabulous blog hop!  You should have arrived from the talented Pamela Ho's blog but if not here is the Stamping Royalty list:

Paper Crafts Connection

We decided for our blog hop to make a card in one of the 5 Stamping Royalty categories (Birthday, Christmas/Season's Greetings, Hello/Thinking of you, Love, and Thank You). My card today is a recreation of a similar card I sent in for the "Thinking of You" category for Stamping Royalty except here I jazzed up my original and changed the sentiment to "Thank You".  Can you guess what set I used?  My personal favorite set right now:  Fresh Cut Florals from Wplus9.

Thank you

Now for the prize I'm offering up!  Since I am very blessed to be on the Lil' Inker Designs DT, I thought I'd offer the Rainbows and Clouds Stamps and Dies!!!  Let me say that these clouds dies are my most used cloud dies EVER!!!  I love the stitching that sets them apart from so many others.
Thank you Laura for sponsoring Stamping Royalty this year!!!

Curtain Call Inspirational Challenge

***Come enjoy the 2013 Stamping Royalty Blog Hop starting July 19th......there are prizes!***

I'm back!!!  I had a wonderful 8 days off work and I NEEDED it!  It was a bit unexpected as I had taken the time off for baseball but my son's team didn't end up playing in the World Series.  This left me with a sweet vacation to enjoy my kids.......swimming, movies, visited friends/family, and just enjoyed the time together!  (shhh......I didn't make anything in over a week!)

There is a new challenge around called Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge and their first challenge is "Feeling Nautical".  I used some Fancy Pants pattern paper and paired it with the fun images from Reverse Confetti's Happy Harbor set.  I decided to die cut a circle for my focal point using the Stitched Mats: Circles from Lil' Inker Designs.....these dies are AMAZING!!!

Welcome back to Day 2 of the Neat & Tangled Stamps new release!

Today we are sharing inspiration using a new set called:  Ink Splash.  This is going to be ever so popular!!!  This is a set of 2 ink splash stamps.....one large and one mini.

I decided to use the ink splash stamp and go for a more masculine card and pairing the colors from yesterday's card with GRAY.  I don't know about you but I'm finding myself using gray on lots of cards lately.  It's such a perfect neutral.  :)
