With Sympathy

Sympathy........I always have trouble with these types of cards.   I know I am not alone.  So when it's time and I need one.......I never have one in my stash.  Enter, today.  I sat down and made this card using some fabulous Verve stamps.

I started out with a Soft Stone scrap of cardstock and heat embossed the blooms and greenery from Great Friend using White Filigree Embossing Powder.  Onto a strip of vellum, I heat embossed my sentiment, from Treasured Words, using black embossing powder.  I just love how the blooms can be seen through the vellum!!!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge: Over the Edge

Just what do we mean by that?
CFC127: Create a Clean And Simple project with some sort of element that extends past the edge.
Sound like fun? The challenge will remain open until noon on Wednesday Feb 12th.

I have been starting to sell some of my cards in a local floral shop and I need to replenish my supply there especially with Valenine's Day coming fast.  Valentine's Day is one of the biggest days to send flowers.....and you need a card, right?  :)

I've used a fantastic NEW cling stamp called Drawn Heart Background from the Simon Says Stamp Valentine Release.  You can find all the new goodies HERE.  I started by swiping my stamp with Lipstick Red Ink (from Simon Says) and laying a piece of Lipstick Red Cardstock over the stamp to allow the ink to transfer.  I didn't care if it was perfect or had great coverage.....that's the beauty of it!  I added this panel slightly left of center leaving a small white strip on the right.  Now for my "over the edge" element.  A speech bubble was die cut using the Talk Bubble Dies and then stamped using a coordinating stamp from the set called For the Record.  The sentiment was stamped using Black Ink and a small enamel heart was layered over the top of the stamped heart for some dimension!

2.1.14

My element does not make my card bigger than a traditional A2 size........I've just started with a smaller card base!

This week's winner will receive the stamp or Fri-Die set of their choice from.......

Thanks so much for sharing a part of your day with me!!

CAS(E) this Sketch Guest Designer

I enjoy sketches so when I was asked to be a Guest Designer over on the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge blog, I was thrilled!!!  Thank Chrissy for inviting me!

I absolutely fell in love with this sketch and immediately had an idea for my card!!!  This doesn't happen much friends......I usually am a sitter......I think and sit and think some more before I really get down to creating.  Here's what I came up with.............I did change up the sketch a little.....hehe

I used a fabulous stamp set called Modern Mehndi from Lil' Inker Designs and simply stamped them with black in on pink cardstock.  My sentiment (from the same stamp set) was stamped onto an On the Diagonal die cut and popped up with foam adhesive.  A few black enamel dots and a few dots of black Enamel Accents finish this off!!

Our Life......

I've been playing around with some of my stencils lately.  There are so many ways you can use them!  An old stand by is to use those Distress Inks.  I've sponged some Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks over a heart stencil from my stash.  I then thought it would be fun to stitch some sentiment banners to the side but using VELLUM.  It seems to have become my 'go to' embellishment lately.  Using several stamps from the You + Me stamp set from Neat & Tangled, I stamped them using Staz-On onto the vellum banners.

Our Life

This card would be fitting for Anniversary, Valentine's or Just Because!

Have you seen the new Calligraphy Monogram stamps Danielle just released?  Look......
Danielle's handwriting is just the BEST!  You can check these stamps and some new sequins out HERE.

My whole heart

Stopping by with another Valentine but this time using some Reverse Confetti!  Did you get a chance to follow the release?  It was fabulous.....that is all.

I started by die cutting a Stitched Circle from my white panel, rounded the edges, stamped a row of hearts from I Like You, and then used an impression plate to add texture.  Onto my black cardstock window, I stamped images from Crushin' with white ink and added in some die cut hearts from the Confetti Cuts: Love Notes that were covered with Glossy Accents.  This valentine will be going to my hubby.....love that sentiment!!!

Fun with a stencil.......who knew??

Wow!  What a week last week was!  I am a dialysis nurse and we were trained on new dialysis machines last Sunday and then went live with them on Monday.  If you follow me on IG, then you saw a pic of the new machine that was the culprit of my 50+ hours and very busy week!  This left virtually no crafty time for me.......hope to get back on track this week!  On a happy note, we did have our niece spend the weekend with us and we enjoyed some family time to round out the week!

Anyway.......you are here for a card.  I had fun creating this yesterday before any of the family was even thinking of getting out of bed!  haha!  I used the Simon Says Stamp Mosaic Heart Stencil and spritzed some Mister Huey's in Hot Diggity over the top.  Oh my.....that's all I can say except LOVE.  :)  I then die cut several Simon Says Small Hello Die and layered them together.  My tiny simple sentiment is from the stamp set Love This which was stamped using Simon Says Stamp's Black Ink.  The panel was rounded at one corner and popped up with foam adhesive!  What you can't see because it's so hard to capture on camera is the Wink of Stella that covers the word hello.

Sweet Treats!

I thought I'd finally get back into my craft room after my visit to sunny California last week to visit Disneyland and attend CHA.  It felt good to be back crafting after a little vacation!  I have lots of photos to share from CHA so I will post those in a whole separate post!

I have some quick "sweet treats" that are so easy to whip up......using Reverse Confetti stamps and dies!  I've used Sweet Thing, Whole Lotta Hearts, Whole Lotta Dots, and Tag Me Dies.  I love to create a wrap for these Ghirardelli chocolates!!

I found these adorable little paper bags at Michael's from the Recollections line.  They are little glassine pattern bags and food safe!  I've added in a little "Stacey Schafer thread trick" for good measure using some silver metallic floss!!
